Cardinals FS Antoine Bethea’s Season Over with Torn Pec Muscle

Cardinals free safety Antoine Bethea is done for the season with a torn pectoral muscle according to Darren Urban of CardsChatter.com.

It is unclear whether the injury will require surgery. Originally a sixth-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts out of Howard University way back in 2006, Bethea has enjoyed a bounce-back season in his first year in Arizona. The 12-year veteran has graded out as the No.10-overall safety in Pro Football Focus’s rankings.

At 33 years old, however, it is never a certainty that a play can or will choose to return from a serious injury like this. Bethea is under contract to the Cardinals through 2019 and his solid play this season should give him a sure spot on the 53-man roster if he chooses to keep playing.
