Whisenhunt Not Sure How He Will Use Kolb and Skelton in Preseason Finale

Ken Whisenhunt was undecided on Friday about how he will use his top two quarterbacks for the final preseason game next week.

The Cardinals returned to Arizona from Nashville around 3 a.m. Friday, and coaches started meeting a few hours later. The Cardinals also trimmed their roster from 90 players to 75 on Friday, three days ahead of the NFL deadline.

That was enough to pack into 12 hours or so, and Whisenhunt will take the weekend to ponder the quarterback competition between Kevin Kolb and John Skelton.

“Why did I think that was going to be the first question?” Whisenhunt said, smiling. “I don’t really know right now. It’s been a full day. We’ll think about it over the weekend.”

“The one thing we’ve got to get corrected, whether it’s (receiver/returner) Jaymar Johnson or John Skelton or Kevin Kolb or (quarterback) Ryan Lindley, we can’t turn the football over,” Whisenhunt said. “That’s not going to cut it going forward.”
