Patrick Peterson named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Arizona Cardinals first-round cornerback Patrick Peterson has been named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week, Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com reports.

Peterson returned a punt 80 yards for a touchdown in the Cardinals’ 23-20 win over the St. Louis Rams. It was Peterson’s fourth return for a touchdown on the season, all of which have covered over 80 yards.

The return was also the second time Peterson had returned a punt for a touchdown against the Rams this season, joining a 99-yard return in overtime, giving the Cardinals a 19-13 win over in Week 9. That previous return against the Rams earned Peterson his first “Special Teams Player of the Week” honor.
