Wells “Far More Explosive” This Year

According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, Beanie Wells feels “far more explosive” in training camp this year than he felt at any time last season.

Wells had knee surgery last summer and played hurt all year, leading to a bust of a fantasy season. “I applaud him for what he did last year,” said RBs coach Tommie Robinson. “He played with a lot of injuries … a lot of people didn’t know that, but Beanie gutted out a lot of plays.” Wells has been anointed Arizona’s starter already and is back to 100 percent. Rookie Ryan Williams is tentatively expected to open the year as a passing-down back.
