Beanie Wells to Benefit the Most From the Trade of Tim Hightower?

The Cardinals official team website reports that coach Ken Whisenhunt said Monday that RB Beanie Wells and not rookie Ryan Williams will benefit the most from Tim Hightower being traded to Washington.

“To say this is a make or break season is a little premature,” Whisenhunt said. “But this is what he wanted. Clearly he’s the guy.”

There are two ways to look at this news. On one hand, Wells is the more experienced rusher for the Cardinals, and he will have the chance to retain his job as the starter and prove he’s the best player in the backfield. But on the other hand, the Cardinals could be trying to motivate Wells since he was such a disappointment in 2010. We expect the Cardinals to share carries with Wells and Williams, but Williams has the higher ceiling.

  1. CMH says:

It’s too bad we couldn’t have convinced Philly to take Beanie instead of DRC.

Would have preferred a Williams- Hightower-LSH trio and DRC still on the team.
    Not a fan of Beanie’s.
