Eastern Washington RB Taiwan Jones in Demand, To Visit Cardinals

According to Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post, Eastern Washington running back Taiwan Jones is proving to be a young man in demand. Jones is visiting the Miami Dolphins today and also has upcoming visits scheduled with the 49ers and the Raiders according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. Jones has already met with the Philadelphia Eagles and has meetings with the Cardinals, Dolphins and the Chiefs. The Panthers are also believed to have interest.

Jones wowed NFL teams at his pro day last week, running between 4.28 and 4.35 in the 40-yard dash. Jones also registered a 40-inch vertical leap and an 11-foot broad jump. He had a 42-inch vertical leap, but it was scratched due to a foot placement. He started his college career as a cornerback and has outstanding speed for his size (6’1″, 200 lbs). He was expected to work out at the Scouting Combine but was unable to do so due to a broken left foot, which has now completely healed. Jones is not considered a first round candidate but is expected to go between the second and fourth rounds of the draft-and his pro day is undoubtedly shooting him up the charts.

Jones rushed for 1,742 yards and 14 touchdowns last season and was named Big Sky Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year, declaring early for the draft.
