Pro Football Weekly’s insiders in the desert would be surprised if the Cardinals were willing to actually give up the fifth overall pick in the draft in exchange for Eagles QB Kevin Kolb — which is what PFW is hearing it reportedly would take to land him. The Cardinals are reportedly the top suitor to acquire Kolb. According to Sports Illustrated’s Peter King, the Eagles already have a firm offer for a first-round pick.
It’s highly unlikely the Cardinals would actually deal a top five draft pick for Kolb, especially when they have pressing issues on defense and Texas A&M LB Von Miller and LSU CB Patrick Peterson could very well be available at No. 5. It’s more likely the Cardinals would deal 2012 picks in a deal for Kolb, something the Eagles reportedly would accept.
