Max Hall will be the fourth rookie quarterback to start for Arizona since 1997, when Jake Plummer (pictured above) began his career with the Cardinals
Max Hall will be looking to break a trend of rookie quarterbacks losing for the Cardinals in their NFL starting debut. The following information was compiled by Darren Urban over at the Cardinals’ Official Website.
Year Name Att Comp Yds TD INT Result
06 Matt Leinart 35 22 253 2 1 Loss vs. KC
04 John Navarre 40 18 168 1 4 Loss @ DET
97 Jake Plummer 40 21 195 2 4 Loss vs. TEN
Leinart definitely had the best start, but perhaps Max Hall can rewrite this bit of Cardinals history. Although Plummer lost his first start, he took the “Cardiac Cards” to the playoffs, beating the Cowboys in Dallas. Max Hall has the potential to be the first rookie quarterback to lead Arizona to a division title.
