Wilson Wins NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Adrian Wilson was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week today.  It’s the 4th time Wilson has received the award during his impressive career.  This week, he added one sack, a blocked field goal, and two interceptions, the second of which ended the game, sealing a victory for the Cardinals.

“When you have guys that do that … it’s easy to point to it and say, ‘Look, this is why,’” coach Ken Whisenhunt said.  “This guy put the time in.  He worked hard.  He did this.  That’s great for our team to see, especially when you have so many young guys.  I think we all know who Adrian Wilson is, his reputation, what type of player he is, but when he does what he did, it just goes to further solidify the legend of who he is.”

Whisenhunt’s words pretty much sum up Adrian Wilson’s impact on the team.  He helps the Carindals win every time he steps onto the field and he’s been doing it longer than any other Cardinal on the roster.
