Fitzgerald Looks Like He’ll Be Back for the Opener

After sitting out Monday’s lackluster loss to the Titans, the Cards got some good news after the game, as it looks as if Larry Fitzgerald will be back for the season opener:

Receiver Larry Fitzgerald missed Monday night’s game because of a sprained knee, but the Cardinals still saw some encouraging things from him at LP Field. Fitzgerald jogged through pass routes in warm-ups, and coach Ken Whisenhunt is optimistic that his top receiver will not only be available for the season opener Sept. 12, but also for the final preseason game 10 days earlier. “The hardest thing with Larry is slowing him down,” Whisenhunt said. “If Larry had his preference, he would be back playing next week. I don’t think there’s any question in any of our minds now that he’ll be ready for the first game. I think he’ll be ready for the last preseason game, but obviously that’s not something we’re pushing to do. We’ll see where he is next week.”
