Posted in Cardinals first-round pick Dan Williams did not report to training camp on Friday, but he appears to be close to reaching an agreement on a contract with the Cards, the Arizona Republic reports. Given that he’s expected to earn a starting job at nose tackle before Week 1, a quick turnaround and minimal absence at the outset of his first training camp would undoubtedly be of great value to Williams. He should be signed before the end of the weekend barring some sort of unforeseen road block in the contract discussions.
