Cardinals Sign 2nd Round Pick, Washington

The Cardinals signed their 2nd round selection, OLB Daryl Washington from TCU, to a 4-year contract.  The financial terms were not disclosed.  Washington’s contract meant that FB Reagan Mauia was cut.

It’s nice that the Cardinals and Washington got the contract situation squared away early.  It’s no secret that Arizona really wanted to grab Washington in this year’s draft as the eventually replacement for Karlos Dansby.  As we’ve discussed, however, with Hayes’ injury Washington may be called upon sooner than previously expected, which is why it’s great that he can just get to work.

First round selection Dan Williams remains the only unsigned draft pick, though Darren Urban pointed out that talks are ongoing.  As such, Williams isn’t expected to miss too much of training camp.
