PFW: Anderson’s Issues Making it Easier for Leinart

Pro Football Weekly reports that the issues with Derek Anderson’s arm is making it easy for Matt Leinart to get the OK for the starting job:

While there has been no denying his strong arm, the word out of the desert is that Cardinals QB Derek Anderson’s inconsistency is making it easier for the team to make a solid commitment to Matt Leinart as the starter. We hear Anderson, who was signed as a free agent after falling out of favor in Cleveland, has made a habit out of unleashing a great throw and then routinely following it up with a pass way off the mark in the Cardinals’ offseason workouts. Leinart, meanwhile, has looked confident and increasingly comfortable, according to sources on the scene.

  1. It’s Leinart’s job to lose, whether it’s training camp or during the season. Hope he’s learned something from Kurt.
