Cardinals Get OTAs Rolling

OTAs started today (5/18) at 1:30 p.m., ET.  The Cardinals also made two more roster additions.   They are WR Deryn Bowser, who participated in minicamp on a tryout basis, and Chris Johnson (not that Chris Johnson).  This Johnson will join the linebacker core.  Updates on how OTAs are progressing will be posted as they become available.

SI’s King Says Cardinals Ranked #22 in power rankings

For those of you that don’t regularly read Peter King’s ‘Monday Morning QB’ column on SI.com, your missing out. King remains to me about the strongest writer in the NFL, and every week this column never lets me down when it comes to the pulse of the league. Today he did his power rankings, which [...]

Secondary will be Pivotal for Success in 2010

The cornerback position opposite Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will most likely be one of the most pivotal positions for the Cardinals in 2010.  Granted, Matt Leinart’s play at quarterback is important, but the Cards don’t necessarily need Leinart to play too far above average to win.  The defense, however, particularly the secondary, must be at the top of its [...]

Start of OTAs Drawing Near in Arizona

The Cardinals begin Organized Team Activities tomorrow (5/18).  This will afford the coaching staff the first real opportunity to gauge how position battles will shake out this off-season.  Some of the more interesting battles should  include: Right Guard- Reggie Wells, Rex Hadnot Right Tackle- Brandon Keith, Jeremy Bridges, Reggie Wells Cornerback- Greg Toler, Justin Miller, [...]

What’s the Deal with Deuce?

Will Deuce Lutui be protecting Matt Leinart this season?  Possibly, but Lutui has to get himself on the team first.  The Cardinals’ guard still hasn’t signed his one-year $1.759 million tender.   Lutui missed minicamp and won’t sign in time to participate in OTAs, which begin on Tuesday (5/18).  As a result, the first time Lutui [...]

Cardinals Sign FB Charles Ali

It’s been relatively uneventful since the Cards broke minicamp, but there’s some news to report now.  The Cardinals signed former Cleveland Browns fullback Charles Ali this past Friday (5/7) to a one year deal.  Ali will compete for playing time with fellow Cardinals fullbacks  Nehemiah Broughton and Reagan Maui’a.  After the latter two fullback’s names, Charles [...]

Cardinals Break Minicamp with OTAs Nearing

With minicamp over, the Cardinals have past a major sign-post of the offseason.  Nothing should be taken too seriously at this point, especially depth charts, but here are some observations at this point, for what they’re worth. At this point in his career, when Leinart is finally getting the chance to be a no doubt starter [...]
