Pro Football Weekly reports a couple of Cardinal roster moves Tuesday:
The Cardinals took steps to strengthen what was widely considered the weakest link in their offensive line Tuesday with the signing of veteran C Melvin Fowler to a one-year contract. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.
The 6-3, 295-pound Fowler spent the last three seasons with the Bills and played in 14 games last season, including five starts. He started all 16 games for the Bills in both 2006 and ’07. Fowler has also played for the Browns (he was selected by Cleveland in the third round of the 2002 draft) and Vikings during his seven-year career. He provides badly needed veteran depth behind Cardinals starting C Lyle Sendlein, who played through a torn labrum suffered in the fourth game last season.
In addition to signing Fowler, the Cardinals released C Donovan Raiola and placed FB Justin Green (knee) on injured reserve.
