Remember Matt Leinart? He’s still around, and today the Arizona Republic reminds us of that, and says that the team still has confidence in him:
Cards QB Kurt Warner turned 38 in June and over the last two years has gotten into the best condition of his career. He’s worked hard at improving his footwork and moving to avoid the rush. But there is only so much Warner can do, especially since he’s not the fleetest guy around. Coaches remain confident in backup Matt Leinart, but given the way Warner produced last year, no one is eager to see Leinart play just yet.

The Cardinals are saying all the right things, but Warner clearly is the starting QB. Warner led the Cardinals to unprecidented heights in 2008 and is the hot hand right now.
