The on-again, off again talk about trying to work out a deal with wide out Anquan Boldin seems to be on again, as Steve Wyche of NFL.com reports that the team now seems to headed towards a peaceful agreement with the receiver.
Cards president Michael Bidwill said today at the NFL Owner Meetings that the sides are working towards getting a deal in place. “We’ve worked hard at getting Anquan Boldin extended and we’ll continue to do those things.”
Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for Boldin and the guy who threw it out there that his client wanted out of Arizona, says that something can be done and that a deal can be met. “We can work out a deal with the Cardinals and we have put forth an offer to them,” Rosenhaus said.
Boldin has two years and $5.75 million left on his contract. He wants a deal that reportedly is going to pay him in line with fellow WR Larry Fitzgerald, and could see him make an upwards of $10 mil per season.
The funny thing is a new deal for Boldin may be the only answer. The Cardinals have already put him on the trading block and have found no takers, and if Boldin can’t be moved, the best thing to do would be to get a new deal done.
