The Cards recently worked out free-agent tight end Dominique Byrd, and today announced that they had inked him to a one-year deal. He was a 2006 third-round pick of the Rams, but was cut by the team on April 29th, 2008, and had not played since then. He has a bit of a troubled past, as he was arrested multiple times during his time with the Rams. In October 2007, he pleaded guilty to DUI. In December 2006, he allegedly struck a man with a beer bottle.
