Cards Still Trying to Reach Deals with Dansby and Wilson

Regardless of Anquan Boldin’s actual trade status, Pro Football Weekly reports that the Cardinals have more pressing concerns. Specifically, the team is preoccupied with resigning Karlos Dansby, who has signed a one-year franchise tender, and Adrian Wilson, whose contract expires after the 2009 season.

According to Pro Football Weekly, a long-time team insider reports that “the team is pretty much negotiating simultaneously with their agents (Kirk Wood for Dansby and Eugene Parker for Wilson). Signing Adrian would be a particularly big deal—another message to the players that the team does take care of its own. And Adrian is such an icon. He never has really popped off, and he’s considered one of the team’s two big leaders along with Boldin.”

While it is still believed that the Cardinals will eventually address Boldin’s contract situation, it appears that the team has firmly placed Boldin on the back burner for now.
