Cardinals Assign Tenders to Watson and Pope

ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that the Cards have given some tenders to players as free agency is set to start:

The Cardinals assigned a second-round restricted tender to defensive tackle Gabe Watson and a low restricted tender to restricted free agent tight end Leonard Pope.

Watson is scheduled to be paid a $1.545 million tender.

Pope received the low tender of $1.01 million. He was a third-round draft pick, so the Cardinals would be compensated with a third-round selection if another team signed him to an offer sheet and they decided not to match.Meanwhile, long snapper Nathan Hodel was cut from the roster.

The Cardinals retained several exclusive-rights free agents, including cornerback Michael Adams, fullback Tim Castille, tight ends Stephen Spach and Ben Patrick, linebacker Pago Togafau, center Lyle Sendlein and tackle Elliot Vallejo.

Plus, Arizona signed running back Chris Vincent, tight end Alex Shor and defensive tackle Jason Banks.
