When asked after his selection to the Pro Bowl for the third time in his career if his latest invite to Hawaii might make it more likely he will remain a Cardinal after this season, WR Anquan Boldin at least offered a direct answer. “Honestly, I don’t know,” said Boldin, who had been making a conscious effort for the last month or so to avoid the subject of his future in Arizona after demanding a trade earlier in the season. “That’s a situation that will have to be resolved after the season.”
Boldin’s legitimate Pro Bowl credentials notwithstanding, there’s no denying he has had three very subpar performances in meaningful games against the Jets (good numbers but a costly fumble), Eagles and Vikings this season — a fact team sources believe might not bode too well for his future in the desert. “They’re 2-0 without him,” said one team insider. “If there’s a team willing to offer a bundle for him, it just might make a lot of sense at this stage.”
