Is anyone playing better football right now in the league than Kurt Warner? The Cards QB was once again on his game Sunday against a team that in the past has haunted the Cards – the Seahawks. It was Warner’s calm and cool play that built a big lead before the defense almost gave it away. Warner should right now be more than in the running for league MVP.
Warner completed 32 of 44 passes for 395 yards—his franchise-record fourth straight 300-yard game, and helped the team build their 26-7 lead. “You know, it’s fun. That’s all I want is another chance to compete for a championship,” said Warner. “We’re back in the mix again. Obviously, there’s still a long way to go, but to be 10 games in and be in the mix is fun. We haven’t been there in a while. I haven’t been there in a while.”
The Cards are more than in the mix, as they have a QB that is playing great, a WR core that is making big plays, and a rookie RB that also is doing an excellent job in giving the team some sort of balance. At the end of the day, it will likely come down to Warners’ play that will dictate how far the team goes.
If he keeps playing like it’s 1999 all over again, the team will be that much closer to making a championship run in January.
