Cards Set to Welcome Dallas Sunday

The 3-2 Cardinals enter Sunday’s game against the Cowboys atop the NFC West. They are looking for their sixth straight home victory as well as a chance to move to 4-2 heading into their bye week.

The game will match two of the NFL’s top offenses. Arizona’s unit is ranked 5th overall (3rd passing) while Dallas is ranked 3rd (4th passing). The Cowboys (151 points) and Cards (147) are also ranked 1-2 in the NFC in scoring. QBs Kurt Warner and Tony Romo – each of whom entered the NFL as undrafted free agents – rank 2 & 3 in passing yards.

Arizona is coming off a 41-17 home win over the previously undefeated (4-0) Bills. The Cards enjoyed a 4-0 edge in turnovers and produced 17 points off those takeaways. AZ scored TDs on its first 3 drives and scored points on 7 of its first 8. Without all-pro WR Anquan Boldin, the team produced a season-high 41 points against Buffalo’s 7th-ranked defense (6th vs. pass). Warner completed 78.5% of his passes to 9 different receivers while playing a sack-free & turnover-free contest. WR Larry Fitzgerald caught a pair of TDs and rookie RB Tim Hightower added 2 on the ground. Arizona’s defense knocked starting Bills QB Trent Edwards (concussion) from the contest on the game’s 3rd play and harassed J.P. Losman the rest of the way (5 sacks, 1 INT, 1 fumble lost).

The Cowboys improved to 4-1 last week with a 31-22 home win over Cincinnati. Dallas led 17-0 but the Bengals cut it to 1 in the 4th quarter. Romo threw two of his three TD passes in the final quarter in helping to keep the Bengals winless (0-5).
