The Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has agreed to terms on a six-year contract with Tennessee State cornerback DOMINIQUE RODGERS-CROMARTIE, the team’s first-round (16th overall) selection in the 2008 NFL Draft. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Rodgers-Cromartie (6-2, 182) was a third-team All-America selection by the NFL Draft Report and a first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection for the second straight season after collecting 37 tackles, 11 passes defensed, and two interceptions that were both returned for touchdowns as a senior in 2007. Rodgers-Cromartie also set a school single-season record by blocking four kicks last year. Of the 60 pass thrown in his direction in 2007, he allowed only 22 receptions on the season.

The Bradenton, FL native finished his collegiate career by starting 39 of the 44 games in which he appeared at Tennessee State, collecting 158 tackles, 11 interceptions, and 26 passes defensed. Of his 11 career interceptions, he returned four of them for touchdowns while also returning a fumble and kickoff for touchdowns and blocking eight kicks.
