Dansby Likely To Be Franchised

It appears very likely that the Arizona Cardinals will apply the “franchise” tag on linebacker Karlos Dansby within the next 2 weeks, then attempt to sign him to a long-term deal by July 15, according to Mike Tulumello of the East Valley Tribune; both team general manager Rod Graves and Dansby’s agent, Kirk Wood, indicated on Thursday that this is the path that will probably used.  Graves added, “At some point, when the timing is right I expect we’re probably going to use the tag on him and then continue to negotiate with him on a long-term deal.”
