Fitzgerald Says He Wants to Stay with the Cards
Posted by Matt Loede on January 29th, 2008 filed in NewsA lot has been said already about the Cards looking to move wide out Larry Fitzgerald, with teams like the Eagels and Vikings being places where he’s been rumored to be moving to this offseason. Today’s East Valley Tribune is reporting that Fitzgerald is not exactly a big fan of the rumors of him being moved from the desert elsewhere. “I want to be a Cardinal,” he said in the paper. “I love my teammates. I love working for the Bidwills.” The sticking point with the wide out is his large cap number, which is to approach $16 mil this season, a number the Cards simply cannot afford. Right now, the agent for Fitzgerald and the Cards are talking about a deal to lower that number, but no movement in the case has been reached. Stay tuned.
