Could Arizona Be Looking to Dump James?

Could Edgerrin James be on his way out of the desert? That’s a report today from the East Valley Tribune, which says with James set to be worth $5 mil against the Cardinals cap next season, the team could either dump him or look to move him. Despite going over 1,000 yards in each of his two seasons with Arizona, overall the realtionship between the Cardinals and James has been a bit underwhelming, considering what he was expected to bring to Arizona. In his last season with the Colts, 2005, James averaged 4.2 yards per carry. Last season with the Cards he put up 3.4 yards per carry, and this year, rushing for 1,222 yards, he averaged 3.8 yards per carry, and ran for 7 touchdowns. There are a few free agent backs on the market this year, including Michael Turner, and Justin Fargas, that could likely step in and replace James if they dump him or move him.
