Cardinals Travel to New Orleans

The Cardinals conclude their regular-season road schedule this week as they travel to New Orleans to face the Saints in a must-win for both teams. At 6-7, both need a victory to stay in the hunt for the NFC Wild Card playoff spot.

The Cardinals are coming off a 42-21 loss to Seattle. It was a game in which Arizona faced an uphill battle most of the day after giving Seattle a 24-0 lead in the first half. The Cardinals looked to have gained the momentum late in the third quarter when, down 27-14 after a two-yard TD reception by Jerheme Urban, the Cards recovered the ensuing onside kick. They turned it over on the next snap however, and could not get closer as Seattle scored the next 15 straight points.

New Orleans is coming off a 34-14 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night. The Saints got their points from both offense and defense as QB Drew Brees threw for three touchdowns, two to Marques Colston, and on defense, S Roman Harper returned an interception 31 yards for a touchdown. The Saints got out to an early 17-7 lead at halftime and effectively put the game away when they increased their lead to 31-7 in the third quarter.

The Cardinals return home for the final two regular season contests as they face the Atlanta Falcons next week and St. Louis in week 17. New Orleans will stay put as they host the Philadelphia Eagles before finishing up their schedule in Chicago.
