Cardinals Face the Browns

From the Cardinals

The Cardinals host their second consecutive home game as they face the visiting Cleveland Browns, who at 7-4 trail the Pittsburgh Steelers by one game.

Last week, the Cardinals had a chance to move to 6-5 and even up the season series with the 49ers but instead San Francisco snapped its eight-game losing skid in a back-and-forth overtime thriller.

At 5-6, the Cardinals are a game out of the Wild Card race. The two NFC Wild Card leaders are the Giants (7-4) and Lions (6-5) while Arizona is tied with Philadelphia, Washington, Chicago, Minnesota and New Orleans—all of whom are 5-6.

Arizona’s loss to San Francisco last week dropped the team to 5-6 and the Cards are now two games behind NFC West leading Seattle, who moved to 7-4 with a 24-19 win at St. Louis.

The Browns are coming off a 27-17 win over the Houston Texans in which both teams traded scores early on before the Browns scored 20 consecutive points to effective put the game away. QB Derek Anderson threw for two touchdowns and RB Jamal Lewis ran for another in a game which Cleveland needed to keep pace with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North.

Next week the Cardinals travel to Seattle to face the NFC West leading Seahawks while the Browns travel to New York to face the Jets.
Kick-off for this Sunday’s Game is set for 2:05 p.m. (MST).
