Cards Set for Steelers Showdown Sunday
Posted by Matt Loede on September 28th, 2007 filed in NewsThe Steelers take their undefeated mark to the desert this weekend to tackle the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium. The Steelers rolled to their third straight win in Week Three, knocking off the previously unbeaten 49ers 37-16. Ben Roethlisberger passed for only 160 yards, but Willie Parker picked up the slack with 133 yards rushing. Pittsburgh has outscored its opponents 97-26 so far this season. The Cardinals are coming off a 26-23 last-second loss to the Ravens. Kurt Warner came on for ineffective Matt Leinart and completed 15-of-20 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns as the Cards came back from a 23-6 deficit in the fourth quarter. Despite the effort, first-year head coach Ken Whisenhunt says Leinart will be his starter again this week. Arizona is 1-and-2 on the season.

On my Steelers’ blog I give the Cardinals a 55% chance of winning tomorrow’s game. The Steelers are a better team, but several factors point to the underdog Cards squeaking out a victory. I can envision a scenario where Leinart is pulled for ineffectiveness and Warner comes in and does a lot of damage as the Steelers’ “D” is vulnerable to passers who can get rid of the ball quickly and have quality to receivers to throw to.
